The Youth Care Counselor (Boys Ranch) provides direct care, supervision, guidance, and protection of group home residents and demonstrates the maturity needed to support residents with behavioral, developmental, mental health, and trauma-related needs. The position requires compassion and respect for youth in care and the ability to balance nurture with structure. The Youth Care Counselor (Boys Ranch) must build healthy relationships, communicate effectively, problem-solve, and regulate emotions, while modeling moral and ethical behavior aligned with the agency’s mission and core values. The Youth Care Counselor (Boys Ranch) will receive training in MCH’s treatment model, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and consistently apply and model TBRI principles in daily interactions with residents and team members.

Home Parents

Full-time home-parent couples work seven days on and seven days off. Home Parents care for and supervise youth in placement and implement the MCH model of care in homes on the assigned residential campus. Home Parents in the Independent Living program supervise adults ages 18-25. Home Parents must exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to work with youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs, and trauma. Home Parents must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency's mission and core values.


The Clinical Therapist provides therapeutic services to individuals and families. The Clinical Therapist performs mental status examinations, crisis management, individual, group and family work. This position involves frequent contact with consumers, program staff, MCH employees, community agencies, and visitors. This position requires a thorough understanding of and demonstrated competency in the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) techniques developed by the Karen Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. The Clinical Therapist must possess strong organizational and leadership skills and exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to work with youth and families who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. This position requires compassionate respect and understanding for individuals who have experienced complex trauma and the ability to balance the need for nurture and structure in the work with clients served. The Clinical Therapist must be able to form and maintain healthy relationships with clients and co-workers, effectively communicate with others, and regulate their own behavior in all situations.


After School Coordinator

The After-School Program Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of an after-school educational and recreational program that offers age-appropriate activities for youth in care. The program includes, but is not limited to, theatre, choir, drum line, cheer, independent living, horsemanship and physical education. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the After-School Program is operated safely and in compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.

The After-School Program Coordinator must exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to work with youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. This position requires respect and compassionate understanding for the youth in care and the ability to balance the need for nurture and structure in the work with youth.
